Why we like/dislike it: This is a book cover that has really got it right! It’s a summer release and the colours certainly reflect that. It looks fun, bright, happy and would definitely make me pick it up off the shelf. The blue and pink work really well today, and the tones they have chosen just fit perfectly. It reminded us of Paige Toon’s fabulous novel Chasing Daisy, and I think it looks like a perfect chick-lit cover!

Overall mark out of 10: 10
Would we buy this book based on its cover? Yes!

Book News: The Secrets Between Us by Louise Douglas

Posted By Chloe on March 22nd, 2011

I am a big fan of Louise Douglas’ work and have loved both of her previous releases so when I saw she was due another book this summer, I was really pleased! The cover is very different to her last book, and certainly looks beautiful, I am really liking the new look although I did love the old one too! This novel, The Secrets Between Us, is due out on 7th July and here’s the synopsis,it sounds absolutely fabulous!

A chance encounter: When Sarah meets dark, brooding Alex, she grasps his offer of a new life miles away from her own. They’ve both recently escaped broken relationships, and need to start again. Why not do it together?

A perfect life: But when Sarah gets to the tiny village of Burrington Stoke, something doesn’t add up. Alex’s beautiful wife Genevieve was charming, talented, and adored by all who knew her. And apparently, she and Alex had a successful marriage complete with a gorgeous son, Jamie. Why would Genevieve walk out on her perfect life? And why has no one heard from her since she did so?

A web of lies: Genevieve’s family and all her friends think that Alex knows more about her disappearance than he’s letting on. But Sarah’s fallen in love with him and just knows he couldn’t have anything to hide. Or could he?”
