Book News: Love Always by Harriet Evans

Posted on Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 by Leah

Harriet Evans’ latest book Love Always was originally due out this year, but has now been put back until 20th January 2011. It sounds like a great read and I really adore the cover which was released a couple of weeks ago. Here’s the synopsis:

Natasha Kapoor’s life is at a turning point. Leaving London for the magical Cornish coast to attend the funeral of her beloved grandmother, this trip will reunite her with her large and complicated family. As she and her family sort through her grandmother’s possessions and prepare to sell Summercove, the idyllic coastal home that has been in their family for decades, Natasha is given the long-lost diary of her aunt Cecily, who died in a tragic accident at the age of fifteen.

Returning to her home in London’s trendy Shoreditch, Natasha must get back to normality – to her job as a jewellery designer and to her soon-to-be ex-husband. But how can she forget the tragic tale of love, rivalry and heartbreak that emerged from the pages of Cecily’s diary? And will Cecily’s words, though written forty years ago, inspire Natasha to take a chance on love?

Book News: A Girl Like You by Gemma Burgess

Posted on Tuesday, November 16th, 2010 by Leah

I absolutely loved Gemma Burgess’s debut novel The Dating Detox that was released at the beginning of the year so when I heard Gemma was working on a second novel, I was thrilled. A Girl Like You will be released on 6th January 2011 and I can’t wait for it! The cover is fantastic and the book promises to be just as good as The Dating Detox! Here’s the synopsis:

“I’ve discovered the secret to successful singledom. I’m acting like a man. And it’s working.” After breaking up with her boyfriend of, well, forever, Abigail Wood must learn how to be single from scratch. Her dating skills are abysmal, and she ricochets from disaster to disaster – until Robert, one of London’s most notorious lotharios, agrees to coach her. With his advice, she learns to navigate the bastard-infested waters of the bar scene and practices the art of being bulletproof. The new Abigail is cocky, calm, composed…but what happens when she meets her match?”

Book News: Love Always by Harriet Evans

Posted on Saturday, October 30th, 2010 by Danielle

Are you a Harriet Evans fan? It’s just been announced that she will have a new book out in February of 2011 titled Love Always. It sounds fantastic! And if it’s anything like her previous novels it’s sure to be a wonderful addition to her already long list of novels. As provided by the publisher, here’s the synopsis:

From the bestselling author of I REMEMBER YOU comes a compelling and heartbreaking tale of lost love, family secrets and those little moments that can change your life for ever.

Book Deal: Arrow Signs ‘Playgroup’ Novel

Posted on Wednesday, October 20th, 2010 by Leah

Arrow editor Gillian Holmes has acquired school-set fiction title The Playgroup by Janie Fraser.

Holmes bought world English language rights through agency director Teresa Chris in a two-book deal.

Holmes said: “The Playgroup is a warm, funny and romantic story with such brilliant characters that I was drawn into the fictional world of the school from the first line. Janie writes with humour and sympathy about the issues facing everyone as they struggle with little ones, but what drew me most was the hilarious and heart-wrenching portrayal of the under-fives together with the lives and loves of the adults who look after them.”

Arrow will publish The Playgroup as a paperback original in September 2011.

    (Taken from the Bookseller.)

This one sounds like a great one, and one I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for!

Book News: The Hating Game by Talli Roland

Posted on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 by Chloe

Author Talli Roland has her debut novel out in early 2011 called The Hating Game. The purple front cover is quite eye catching, and it sounds like a great read. Here’s the synopsis:

“When man-eater Mattie Johns agrees to star on a dating game show to save her ailing recruitment business, she’s confident she’ll sail through to the end without letting down the perma-guard she’s perfected from years of her love ‘em and leave ‘em dating strategy.

After all, what can go wrong with dating a few losers and hanging out long enough to pick up a juicy £50,000 prize? Plenty, Mattie discovers, when it’s revealed that the contestants are four of her very unhappy exes.

Can Mattie confront her past to get the prize money she so desperately needs, or will her exes finally wreak their long-awaited revenge? And what about the ambitious TV producer whose career depends on stopping her from making it to the end?

Who will win The Hating Game?”

Book News: To The Moon and Back by Jill Mansell

Posted on Tuesday, May 25th, 2010 by Chloe

Anyone a fan of Jill Mansell? Well, if you are you’ll be pleased to know we already have details of Jill’s next book to be called To The Moon and Back! It’s not due out until 3rd February 2011, but I’m already excited about it as I’ve read Jill’s latest few releases and really enjoyed them. Here’s the synopsis:

“When Ellie tragically loses her husband Jamie in an accident she feels that her world has come to an end. Months later she is ready for a new start – at work that is. She doesn’t need a new man – not with Jamie’s secret visits to keep her company.

Entrepreneur Zack seems to have it all – wealth, good looks and success. But the woman he can’t stop thinking about won’t give him a second glance.

Washed-up popstar Roo is sure that she’s finally found the one. Niall is everything she’s ever wanted – that is until she learns that he already has a wife. Intrigued, Roo is determined to check out her competition. But in relationships things are not always what they seem…”

Book News: The One Before The One by Katy Regan

Posted on Thursday, May 6th, 2010 by Leah

We have an exclusive for you all today - the synopsis for Katy Regan’s eagerly anticipated second book! It was originally due out this year but has been delayed and now The One Before The One will be released on 15th January 2011! There’s no cover yet but I love the sound of the book:

    TO DO LIST
    Make something with Quinoa
    Pluck eyebrows
    Do something ‘cultural’ every week
    Dump married boyfriend

Caroline’s life was meant to be sorted when she made the decision to end her engagement, 3 months before the big day. With her to-do list tasks getting crossed off and her career going great guns, Caroline is sure she’s now a fully functioning adult. So when her 17 year old half-sister Lexi, arrives unexpectedly at her door, it doesn’t quite fit with her image that she’s drunk and wearing her wedding dress!

Lexi has come to stay for the summer but their relationship is strained, as Lexi is the result of their father’s infidelity. An affair that led to the divorce that destroyed Caroline’s mother and ruined her own childhood. Needless to say, Caroline is in no hurry to confess her relationship with her married lover Toby.

As the summer wears on, Caroline has decisions to make, and a life to reconsider, but surely a 17 year old can’t teach her anything about how to live well?
