AW Cover Wars: The Department of Lost & Found by Allison Winn Scotch
Allison Winn Scotch is one of the “big” authors in American Chick Lit/Contemporary Women’s Fiction and with good reason. Her books are fantastic, ranging in topics from divorce to politics to health and much much more. There’s always quite a bit of humor and always a bit of romance as well. Which, after making this recent discovery leaves me a tad boggled.
Her debut novel, The Department of Lost & Found has recently been given a new cover, one that goes along with many of her more recent novels like Time of My Life and The One That I Want. It’s gorgeous! I absolutely adore her new cover! But that leaves me to wonder, what exactly were they thinking with the first cover? It does absolutely nothing for me, though it may speak to the meaning of the book it’s not one I’d be picking up under the assumption that it would be a great Chick Lit/Cont. Women’s Fiction book. But don’t let me rain on the parade, I’d love to know what you all think! Which would you choose, the original (on the left) or the new cover (right) that comes out in May?
Update: Thanks to the author, she’s let us know the cover being replaced is actually the paperback that was originally issued back in 2007. I’ve added it to the collection below, in the center. I have to say, I completely agree with Allison and am so excited they decided to replace it with the new cover. Simply gorgeous! Thank you so much for stopping by Allison!
