Books I’m Looking Forward To In 2011

Posted By Leah on January 6th, 2011

Last year, I made a list of 10 books I absolutely couldn’t wait for, and I enjoyed compiling it so much that I decided I would do it again this year. So, for your viewing pleasure, here are the books I am eagerly anticipating in 2011.

1. Baby Be Mine by Paige Toon
I have been waiting three years for this book. Ever since I turned the last page of Johnny Be Good, I have been anticipating its sequel. So when I heard it was definitely a-go, it became the number one book I was looking forward to in 2011. July cannot come quick enough, I am not joking.

2. Ellie Andrews Has Second Thoughts by Ruth Saberton
I adored Ruth’s debut Katy Carter Wants A Hero and I am very hopeful her second novel will be just as good. I love that the two covers match, and it just sounds like another fab, down-to-Earth read from Ruth.

3. Untitled by Ali McNamara
From Notting Hill With Love… Actually was one of my favourite books of 2010, so it goes without saying that I cannot wait for her second novel. How far away is November again?

4. Love by Cecelia Ahern
Because Cecelia had a baby, 2010 meant no new novel from the wonderful author (how rude of her!) so I’m pleased to see she’ll be back in late 2011 with a new novel, and it’s bound to be filled with some wonderful magical situations! Bring it on!

5. It Started With A Kiss by Miranda Dickinson
It may well be that Miranda has only had two novels published, but she’s quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. I adored both of her first two novels and it kills me I have to wait a year for her next novel. Her story-telling abilities know no bounds and I like how her stories unravel slowly.

6. From London With Love by Jemma Forte
I absolutely loved Jemma’s debut Me And Miss M when it came out in 2009 and her follow-up sounds as if it’ll be quite the rollercoaster as it allegedly involves spies and things. Intriguing, no?

7. Postcards From The Heart by Ella Griffin
Ella Griffin’s debut novel sounds interesting. The cover is absolutely gorgeous, and if I remember correctly she’s apparently very reminiscent of Marian Keyes so I’m very much looking forward to picking up this debut novel!

8. The Hating Game by Talli Roland & Watching Willow Watts by Talli Roland
To stop me from cheating too badly (yes I have already read The Hating Game) I am not only looking forward to getting a finished copy of The Hating Game but Talli’s second novel will also be released in 2011 - woohoo! (And no, it only counts as one entry. I make the rules!)

9. The Very Picture of You by Isabel Wolff
I absolutely adore Isabel Wolff’s novels, and I was very sad we didn’t get a new one from her in 2010, making her new one all the more hotly anticipated as far as I am concerned.

10. A Girl Like You by Gemma Burgess
OK, I admit I have already read a proof copy of this book, but (but!) I am looking forward to getting myself a nice, shiny finished copy and giving it another read.
