Cover Wars: The Twenty-Year Itch by Linda Kelsey
January 14th, 2010 by Leah
Linda Kelsey’s new book, The Twenty Year Itch, is due out in hardback (right) on 7th January 2010 and in paperback (left) on 18th March 2010 and both have different covers. Which do you prefer? I quite like the paperback version myself. Here’s the synopsis for The Twenty-Year Itch:
Can love survive long-term in the twenty-first century? Julie is beginning to doubt it. When her husband of twenty years announces that he is chucking his job to embark on an adult gap year leaving his salary and Julie behind, she puts her marriage under the microscope.
Turning to her friends for comfort and advice, Julie finds that their relationships are falling apart too. Surely they can’t all be innocent victims? Or all bad wives? Is there no such thing as an enduring marriage? Does that twenty-year itch just have to be scratched?
While this emotional maelstrom rages around her, meeting someone new is the last thing on Julie’s mind. Until a chance encounter propels her onto a sexual collision course with a man who spells danger . . .

i like the paperback cover too
I’m going to go against the grain - I prefer the hardback version
I prefer the paperback too!
I agree with Alita .The hardback cover is more creative , sophisticated and less obvious. I would pass on the paperback but the hardback captures the eye and the imagination.
I much prefer the hardback. Less generic, more distinctive and emotionally involving!
I’m the author of the above and thought you might like to know that both the hardback and the paperback will now have the same cover - the legs as opposed to the shoe. I fought hard against the shoe version and I’m glad to say the publishers were eventually persuaded . I think your site is great by the way.
