Book Review: Anyone For Seconds? by Fiona Cassidy

After her husband Tony ups and leaves her, Frankie McCormick swears off all men for good and has been raising her son and daughter, Ben and Carly, by herself since then. So when she first meets Owen Byrne, the last thing she’s expecting to happen is to fall in love with him.

Fall in love they do but it’s not without it’s disasters. For starters, Owen’s daughter Angelica hates Frankie and is doing all she can to break them up. Not to mention the fact their respective in-laws are doing their level best to also break them up. Throw in a bittersweet tragedy, stir in some faces from the past and watch as Frankie and Owen’s relationship is tested to the limit. Do the pair have what it takes to stay together or will they make the heartbreaking decision to go their separate ways and save their sanities?

Book News: Confetti Confidential by Holly McQueen

Despite Leah and I not really raving about Holly McQueen’s first 2 books (The Glamourous Double Life of Isabel Bookbinder and The Fashionably Fashionable Life of Isabel Bookbinder), she’s back with her third book starring Isabel Bookbinder. It’s due out on 10th June 2010 and is called Confetti Confidential. We’ll probably give it a go, so here’s the synopsis:

“Isabel Bookbinder dreams of pearly white weddings, happy brides, handsome grooms. And champagne towers that don’t topple over. She dreams of the perfect wedding. But not for herself…for her clients. It’s all about bride management as far as Isabel’s concerned. Even when she misplaces a couple of brides and loses her job working for wedding guru Pippa Everitt, Isabel isn’t disheartened. She throws herself straight into launching Isabel Bookbinder, Individual Weddings, and with a pop starlet and a millionaire as her first clients, business is looking rosy. Unfortunately for Isabel, nothing ever goes quite according to plan…”

Book Cover: The Bridesmaid Pact by Julia Williams

Julia Williams’s latest book Last Christmas was only released at the end of October but her next book is due out incredibly soon (and I can’t wait)! The Bridesmaid Pact is due for release on 27th May 2010 and I have to say I’m really looking forward to this as I’m a huge fan of Julia. I rather adore the cover, too! Here’s the synopsis:

One for all and all for one! As children, Sarah, Dorrie, Beth and Caz were inseparable and vowed to one day be each others bridesmaids. But life got complicated. Now they have one last chance to fulfil their promise. Dorrie is planning her ultimate Disney wedding to the delicious Darren and is determined to have her friends back together for the Big Day. But Dorrie’s fairytale is not all that it seems…Beth is desperate for a baby and is starting to resent her more fertile friends. Is a mistake from her past about to destroy her future?
