Book Cover: Christmas Magic by Cathy Kelly

Posted By Chloe on September 19th, 2011

Cathy Kelly’s first short story collection is a festive one, and the cover has finally been released. I think it’s nice and festive looking with the red, and white bauble, but I can’t say I am overly mad keen on it which is a shame as most of the Christmas covers this year have been amazing! The book is out on 10th November and I’m excited to read it.

Cathy Kelly, the number 1 best-selling author, has created her first collection of heart-warming short stories. Christmas Magic is full of charming and witty tales of life, love and the everyday dilemmas that we all face, all told in Cathy’s unique voice.

Can the sisters, Dolores and Genevieve, finally break free from their mother’s powerful personality? Can Larissa learn to embrace the endurance test that is the Office Christmas Party or will this year’s be a finger buffet too far? Can Alice open her home and her heart to the one visitor that she doesn’t want this Christmas? And when mysterious Madame Lucia sets up shop with her crystal ball above a travel agent’s, will the staff be convinced that fate really can play a hand?

Relax and unwind in front of a roaring fire and indulge yourself in these, and many other humorous and uplifting tales. Remember that Christmas comes but once a year, so let the magic reel you in…

Book Cover: Something From Tiffany’s by Melissa Hill

Posted By Chloe on August 15th, 2011

I don’t always post about a book’s paperback cover once it’s been released in hardback unless it’s something special, and I think you’ll agree with me that Melissa Hill’s Something from Tiffany’s paperback cover is absolutely gorgeous! The red and stars scream Christmas and I love the inclusion of the Tiffany box on the cover. I want a copy just to sit on my shelf and look pretty! It’s out on 27th October, and if you missed it’s release first time round, you should definitely pick it up this time, it’s a fabulous read.

Doesn’t every girl dream of getting… something from Tiffany’s?

On 5th Avenue in New York City, two very different men are shopping for gifts for the women they love.

Gary is buying his girlfriend Rachel a charm bracelet. Partly to thank her for paying for their holiday-of-a-lifetime to New York. But mainly because he’s left his shopping far too late.

Whereas Ethan’s looking for something a little more special - an engagement ring for the first woman to have made him happy since he lost the love of his life.

But when the two men’s shopping bags get confused, and Rachel somehow ends up with Ethan’s ring, the couples’ lives become intertwined.

As Ethan tries to reunite the ring with the woman it was actually intended for, he discovers this isn’t that easy. Does fate have other ideas for the couples? Or is there simply a bit of Tiffany’s magic in the air…

Book Cover: Finding Mr Flood by Ciara Geraghty

Ciara Geraghty is fast becoming a big name in the chick lit world after the success of her first two novels Saving Grace and Becoming Scarlett and luckily for her fans, she is due out her third novel this year. Finding Mr Flood is due out on October 13th, and Ciara revealed the beautiful new cover on Facebook. I think it’s gorgeous, so different to anything else out there and I can’t wait to read it!

Dara Flood always says the most interesting thing about her life happened before she was born. Thirteen days before she came into the world, her father walked up the road and never came back.

Now in her twenties, Dara’s life has a careful routine. She lives in Dublin with her mother and sister Angel. She has pizza with friends every Wednesday, salsa class every Friday, and sees her boyfriend every Saturday. It’s safe and that’s the way she likes it.

Then Angel gets desperately sick and Dara’s ordered life falls apart. Neither she nor her mother is a compatible match for the kidney Angel needs. So Dara sets out to find the father who could be their last hope. But on the path to uncovering the truth about her father, Dara learns that to let life - and love - in, sometimes you just have to let go . . .

Book Cover: The Magic of Christmas by Trisha Ashley

Posted By Chloe on June 30th, 2011

Finally, we have the finished cover of Trisha Ashley’s festive novel The Magic of Christmas! I think it’s gorgeous, the purple makes it stand out a lot, and I think it looks like a lovely wintery scene, and I can’t wait to read this one! It’s out on October 27th, and here’s the synopsis in case you missed it before:

“In the West Lancashire village of Middlemoss, Lizzie Pharamond is cooking up a defensive storm of comfort food as she becomes increasingly estranged from her serially unfaithful husband, Tom.

Then fate takes a hand and when Tom is killed in a car accident, Lizzie has to deal with his quarrelling mistresses and devious friends – and to top it all – The Mystery Play steering committee have to find a new Lazarus. Middlemoss is already gearing up for its annual performance due to take place on Boxing Day with Tom’s elderly uncle Roly Pharamond as the Voice of God.

As a distraction, Lizzie’s Christmas Pudding Club is about to have the first meeting of the year to swap baking tips for traditional puddings, cakes and mince pies. Lizzie’s growing rivalry with her husband’s cousin, celebrated cookery writer Nick Pharamond, is coming to boiling point. Having snatched the Best Mince Pie prize away from her at the village show, he is certainly the last man she wants to play Adam to her Eve in the Mystery Play.

Meanwhile, her best friend Annie has developed an unsuitable crush on local resident Ritch Rainford, the handsome and charismatic star a popular TV soap. But it becomes clear that Ritch is more interested in Lizzie who, desperately in need of comfort, might just be a tiny bit tempted.

The Voice of God will have one or two things to say about these and other village affairs at the Mystery Play, in a performance that will be a hard act to follow next year.”

The UK paperback for Claudia Carroll’s new book has been given a bit of a change from the older red shaded cover previously shown on Amazon, and I have to say I far prefer this new version which I posted on the right! The sky looks far nicer with the blue, and the title text is much younger looking too, its definitely an improvement! The book’s out on August 18th.

”Absence makes the heart grow fonder…doesn’t it?

What happens when two people decide to give themselves the year off…from each other?

Annie and Dan were the perfect couple. But now the not-so-newly weds feel more like flatmates than soul mates and wonder where all the fun and fireworks went …

When Annie lands her big break in a smash-hit show that’s heading for the bright lights of Broadway, she’s over the moon. Goodbye remote Irish village of Stickens, hello fabulous Big Apple! But with their relationship already on the rocks, how will Annie and Dan survive the distance?

They’re hitting the pause button on their marriage. One year off from each other – no strings attached, except a date to meet in twelve months at the Rockefeller Centre to decide their fate.
