Why we like/dislike it: A Girl Like You has a very beautiful cover. The overall design coupled with the colours used makes for a beautiful and quite distinguised cover. Lilac/purple isn’t a colour used a lot and the flowers are a nice addition. The title font is made of win, I adore it. I’m not a huge fan of the girl being headless, but I do like having the girl on the cover.

Would we buy this book based on its cover?
Yes.

Do Judge A Book By Its Cover is a new feature on Chick Lit Reviews, where we take a look at some of the best (and worst) Chick Lit covers in existence. No synopsis, no hint of the story, just plain old book cover judging, with marks out of 10!

LOL I voted yes because I generally prefer the covers without “heads” - but that’s because some of the covers with “heads” look scary. Like Wendy Holden novels - I think its the smile… and the almost maniacal big eyes - scary!

But then there are some really good covers with heads. But my favourite covers are the “arty” stuff. Like black and white pictures of a park or a colourful picture of flowers etc

Guilty! I sometimes do buy a book for its cover or title.
