Carole Matthews’ new book is due out on 16th September 2010, and the cover has been released, so here it is. I can’t say I’m too keen on it myself, it wouldn’t particularly stand out to me as the yellow is a bit drab for me, but as usual though, the story inside sounds great! Here’s the synopsis:
“Lily and Laurence Lamont-Jones have it all: lavish holidays in exotic locations, a top private school for their children, Hettie and Hugo, and a beautiful Buckinghamshire home with horses and stables. But their perfect world is about to be turned upside down. Laurence has lost his job and, on their return from holiday, they find their house and all their belongings have been repossessed. Forced to live in a council house on one of Milton Keynes’s roughest estates, the Lamont-Joneses are about to discover how the other half live. And with the help of true friends, a little luck and a lot of determination they learn that when you’ve reached rock bottom the only way is up…”

After getting dumped by her boyfriend, sixteen-year-old Mia Gordon is looking forward to spending a relaxing summer in the Hamptons with her glamorous cousins. But when she arrives, her cousins are distant, moody, and caught up with a fast crowd. Mia finds herself lonelier than ever.
That’s when she meets her next-door-neighbor, Simon Ross. Simon isn’t like the snobby party boys her cousins seem obsessed with; he’s funny, artistic, and utterly adventurous. And from the very first time he encourages Mia to go skinny-dipping, she’s caught up in a current impossible to resist.

Allison Winn Scotch has her new novel coming out on June 1st, and it sounds just as good as her bestselling novel “Time Of My Life” which was her previous release. The cover is really pretty, and we’ll be reviewing it as part of TLC book tours later this month, so look out for my review then! Here’s the synopsis:
“Tilly Farmer is aggressively insistent in claiming that she loves her life, including marriage to her high-school sweetheart and a job as a high-school guidance counselor. She’s actually in a rut but doesn’t know it, until a fortune-teller provides her with the gift of “clarity” regarding the future. The more honest Tilly is about her emotions—especially the anger, resentment, and grief tamped down since the death of her mother—the more her perfect world unravels and the closer she comes to real happiness.”

Headline has signed a three-book deal with Sheila O’Flanagan, continuing a partnership that extends over 15 novels and two short story collections.
Headline’s director of publishing Marion Donaldson conducted the deal for British Commonwealth rights with Carole Blake of Blake Friedmann.
Headline is already due to publish three O’Flanagan titles this year—the paperback edition of The Perfect Man, a new hardback Stand By Me and a collection of Christmas-themed short stories called A Season to Remember.
The new titles will be published in 2012–14. Donaldson said: “I couldn’t be more delighted. Sheila is a wonderful writer, writing warm, wise and unputdownable novels about families, relationships, friendship and love, and charming readers and retailers alike both through her books and in person.
“We are very proud to be her publisher, and look forward to many more successful years of partnership.”
Taken from the Bookseller.
This is fantastic news for Sheila’s fans (ie. ME!). That’s quite a stunning deal; 2012-2014, that’s so far away but so good to know that Sheila can be added to any Release Dates pages for the next 4 years at least!

Lucky Santangelo fans should really hold onto their hats because I’ve got some exciting news: she’s coming back! Yes, Jackie Collins will be bringing out a new Lucky novel on 1st November 2010 called Goddess of Vengeance. I’ve never read any of the Lucky books myself but my mum has and she enjoys them! Here’s the synopsis and we’ll hopefully have the cover soon, too!
Lucky Santangelo, owner of the luxurious and exclusive Keys complex in Las Vegas, comes up against Armet Askarani, a ruthless middle-eastern billionaire potentate with three wives, who has little regard for women except as sexual playthings or breeding mares to increase his already substantial amount of offspring.
Armet wishes to purchase the Keys, and is shocked to hear that Lucky Santangelo has no desire to sell – whatever the price. That a mere woman would turn him down is insulting and unthinkable, so Armet determines to force her hand.
And so the battle for power begins…

Chick Lit Classics is a new feature on Chick Lit Reviews where we highlight the books we feel are classics of the chick lit genre. Feel free to discuss our choices in the comments section!
Another Thursday afternoon means only one thing: a new Chick Lit Classic pick. This week I’ve gone for a relatively new book, it was only released in 2008 but I’ve read it three times now and I figure it’s definitely a classic. That book is Paige Toon’s second novel Johnny Be Good. I’ve read all of Paige’s books - Lucy In The Sky (twice), Chasing Daisy (once) and the aforementioned Johnny be Good (three times) and I am eagerly awaiting Paige’s fourth out in July (is it July yet?!). If I had to pick a favourite of the three, as I’ve loved all three, Johnny would be my pick because it was just a fantastic read. The ending was questionable the first time I read it, however, after Paige revealed that the ending is dealt with in Chasing Daisy I was happy. Even more so when Paige mentioned a potential sequel (which I SO hope is going to happen).
If your boss was the hottest rock star on the planet, would you mix business with pleasure? I’m Meg Stiles. This is my leaving party. And that song we’re making a mockery of? That’s written by one of the biggest rock stars in the world. And I’m moving in with him tomorrow. Seriously! I am not even joking. Well, maybe I’m misleading you a little bit. You see, I haven’t actually met him yet …No, I’m not a stalker. I’m his new PA. His Personal Assistant. And I am off to La-La Land. Los Angeles. The City of Angels - whatever you want to call it - and I can’t bloody believe it! Celebrity PA to wild boy of rock Johnny Jefferson, Meg’s glam new life in sun-drenched LA is a whirlwind of showbiz parties and backstage passes. Cool, calm Christian, in town to write his famous friend’s biography, helps keep Meg’s feet firmly on the ground. But with Johnny’s piercing green eyes and a body Brad Pitt would kill for, how long will it be before she’s swept right off them again?
