AW Movie News: A Chick Lit Movie Summer

Posted By Danielle on April 22nd, 2011

First of all, I wanted to let our readers in on a little secret…I have a huge, wonderful interview to share with you in the next week or so with a certain big name Chick Lit author who also has a movie coming out soon! Who exactly? Well, take a look at the following trailer and take a guess!

Yep! You probably saw somewhere in there, her name, Emily Giffin! Her book, Something Borrowed (which is fabulous by the way, and you should already have read or are planning to in the very near future), has been made into a movie with it’s release date coming in just over a week from now! I was able to chat with Emily last weekend and got the inside scoop on some very exciting news that I’ll be sharing a little closer to the movie release. Until then, are you planning to see it? Or I should say, when are you planning to see it?

Also, another fantastic work of women’s fiction has recently been made into a major motion picture! The Help by Kathryn Stockett has received so much praise and when I discovered the trailer for the movie based on this incredible book I knew I had to share it. I’m dying to see this one as well and am hoping it lives up to the characters from the book. Take a look…

What do you think? Will you be heading out to see either or both of these this coming Summer?

I have been waiting for this movie since it was first announce that it would be made in a movie. This trailer is actually way better than the first one i saw. Looks like it will follow the book closely, although there seems to be a part played by an angel? *totally clueless*

I’m looking forward to “something borrowed” and going to see it on the Sunday after it comes out and I have a feeling I know what your exciting news is :)

I have been eagerly anticipating Something Borrowed for well over a year now but did not know that The Help was being made into a movie! What a fab summer this will be for movies! Yay:) Thanks for sharing here!

SOMETHING BORROWED. You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this movie. I could probably hand on heart say it’s my favourite book ever. And I love the fact that the movie seems to be so much like the book. It looks as though they’ve stayed true to the novel, although Ethan doesn’t live in London, but I can let that go. I’m planning to see it as soon as physically possible. But which might not be until it’s released on DVD, I doubt it’ll come out in English at the cinema in Tenerife. :(

So excited for both movies. I literally finished reading each of these books within the last month and am now beside myself with glee knowing that the movie versions are just around the corner.

I can’t wait to see both. I think I’m going to make a date out of it with my mother in law. She’s a big reader so I love watching movie’s from books with her. They both look SO good.

I’ve been waiting for SB to hit the big screen for over a year. It’s my second fave chick lit book (second to Something Blue). Hopefully the movie doesn’t disappoint. I plan to see it opening weekend.
