Author Video: Humfrey Hunter’s Advice for Fictional Heroines!
Humfrey Hunter, author of the soon to be released The Men Files (out on 14th April, in fact) has made a video for us, giving advice to four fictional heroines: Bridget Jones, Becky Bloomwood and the Haven Twins (from Getting Away With It by Julie Cohen). Here it is, it’s well worth the watch, I loved it!
So what actually goes on in a guy’s head?
Men can be more confusing than advanced algebra. Luckily, Humfrey Hunter is on hand to help you figure them out. This is a no-holds-barred look at how single men think, what they want and why they do what they do, from someone who was one.
Wondering why he didn’t call?
Not sure what to do about Mr “I’m-Just-Not-Ready-For-A-Relationship”?
Can’t decide between Mr Nice and a Bad Boy?
Hoping a fling might become something more serious?
If you’re tired of mixed signals or utterly bemused by blokes’ behaviour, you’re not the only one. But Humfrey’s inside knowledge and direct dating advice will help you understand the manifold mysteries of the male mind, make the right moves at the right time, and weed out the good guys from the heart-breakers and head-wreckers.

This sounds like Gerard Butler’s show on the Ugly Truth, even better! In writing! I can’t wait to see your review when you get it!

Hey, wait! If my character Liza had followed Humfrey’s advice, my book would have been, like, only a quarter as long! And it would have taken me a lot less time to write! Of course, it might have had a different ending, and probably a lot less snogging in it, but then again, I could have spent all those months in, say, Hawaii!
There’s a lot in this, I think. Thanks, Humfrey. You’re a star.
I’m definitely buying this book for myself for my birthday.

I do have one little quibble with this and it’s regarding the sort of guy from Bridget Jones: A guy that doesn’t notice what he’s wearing won’t notice an amazing top you tell him was at the back of the wardrobe either. It’s one of the advantages to men with no fashion sense. Trust me on this one. Some guys will absolutely never know whether what you’re wearing is cat’s meow or what the cat dragged in. They are the ones for whom “Oh, this old thing? I’ve had it for ages.” was invented.
The other advantage is they simply wear what you tell them and don’t spend hours in front of the mirror. As far as I’m concerned any guy who spends more time primping than I do is out of the question.

Hey, just found out about this website, and I loved it! About the Hunters book, I’m getting a copy, for sure.
I’m a writer as well, but I’m Brazilian, so my writting is in portuguese… But I’m a big fan of chicklit from all over the world, and Sophie K is one of my favorites, so I really liked the video from mr. hunter. Great website! Love from Brazil! Ana.
