AW Television News: Jennifer Weiner Signs “Georgia”
Incredibly talented author, Jennifer Weiner announced on Monday that her recent partner writing project with Jeff Greenstein (think “Friends”) titled “The Great State of Georgia” will begin production for airing in June/July on ABC! The show will star actress Raven Symone and will be her first feature return to TV since “That’s So Raven” in 2007.
The Great State of Georgia, from ABC Studios, centers on Georgia (Raven Symone), an exuberant curvy performer from the south, and her science geek best friend Jo (Majandra Delfino) who try to make headway in New York City. The pilot was written by author Jennifer Weiner (In Her Shoes) and Jeff Greenstein (Desperate Housewives).
Congratulations Jennifer! I for one know I will be keeping my eyes open for this exciting new addition to ABC’s line up!

You couldn’t keep my away if you tried! I just love Jennifer Weiner and Friends is my all-time favorite show so this sounds perfect for me. Shows can sometimes fall flat, but I will be giving Georgia my undivided attention when it starts!

I’m sure it’s bound to, most of Weiner’s novels have some element of humor in them. Besides, it’s Chick Lit, how could it not be at least mildly humorous?
