Cover Wars: Thanks for the Memories

Posted on Monday, May 3rd, 2010 by Leah

I’ve read most of Cecelia Ahern’s books although Thanks for the Memories is sitting on my shelf waiting for me to pick it up. The cover I have is the one on the right and I think it’s OK. Not my favourite of Cecelia’s covers by a long shot that’s for sure. However one day when I was browsing Amazon I happened across the American cover (left) and I fell in love. I much prefer it to the UK cover, I must say! It looks grown up and really fab. Do you agree?

Joyce Conway remembers things she shouldn’t. She knows about tiny cobbled streets in Paris, which she has never visited. And every night she dreams about an unknown little girl with blonde hair. When she leaves hospital after a terrible accident, with her life and her marriage in pieces, Joyce moves back in with her elderly father. All the while, a strong sense of deja vu is overwhelming her and she can’t figure out why! Justin Hitchcock is divorced, lonely and restless. He arrives in Dublin to give a lecture on art and meets attractive doctor Sarah, who persuades him to donate blood. It’s the first thing to come straight from his heart in a long time. When Justin receives a basket of muffins with a note simply saying thank you,he is sure someone is playing a trick on him. But then a series of gifts begin to arrive. Intrigued and disturbed, Justin is determined to find out who is sending them. What he discovers will change his life forever.

Book Cover: Champagne Secrets by Amanda Brunker

Posted on Monday, May 3rd, 2010 by Leah

Amanda Brunker’s third book Champagne Secrets brings back the heroine of her previous two books, Champagne Kisses & Champagne Babes, Eva Valentine and it’s due out on 24th June. It sounds like a fantastic read & one fans of the Bagshawe sisters will devour. I think the cover is also stunning - don’t you agree? Here’s the synopsis for Champagne Secrets:

Eva the Diva is back! And she’s going undercover…After capturing a bust up on an airplane between a group of footballers’ wives on her camera phone, Eva is offered the chance of a lifetime - a new job as an undercover TV reporter. Her exciting new career means moving herself and little daughter Daisy to London and keeping the exact nature of her work secret from her colleagues at the TV production company. Even the new man in her life doesn’t know what she’s up to…It’s not all high glamour in the big city though - a single mum in a new town needs support, so Eva moves in with her aunt’s large brood, where the rough and tumble of family life is a stark contrast to the celebrity restaurants and nightclubs she visits in her quest to uncover all sorts of WAG drama. But as the intrigue deepens and Eva is forced to tell more and more lies to hold her cover, will her secret prove to be her downfall? And will there ever be a real Mr Right? One things for sure, there’ll be lots of naughty fun and games along the way…
