Book Cover: The Good Girls Guide To Bad Men by Jessica Brody

Posted By Leah on June 15th, 2009

I wrote about the sequel to Jessica Brody’s novel, The Fidelity Files, way back in April when it was under the US title Love Under Cover and had a lovely yet simple cover. The UK cover has been released and let me tell you, I love it! The title, in the UK, will be The Good Girls Guide To Bad Men and is released on October 1st. The synopsis follows:

Jennifer Hunter never saw herself as the relationship type. After all, she’d spent the last two years of her life as an undercover fidelity inspector, hired to test men’s faithfulness—not exactly the kind of job that lends itself to intimacy. But when Jamie Richards walked into her life, everything changed, and Jennifer vowed to trade in her undercover lifestyle for something more normal.

That’s why she formed the Hawthorne Agency: Five full-time fidelity inspectors, hired to carry out Jennifer’s mission while she manages the process from a safe (relationship-saving) distance. But a surprise proposal from Jamie leaves her wondering if the “normal” life is really meant for her. Can a former fidelity inspector who’s seen nothing but failed marriages ever come to terms with tying the knot herself? And when she receives a frantic phone call from one of her employees in trouble, she’s faced with a choice: fulfill her obligation to the client who needs her or honor her promise to the man she loves.

Having loved The Fidelity Files, I can’t wait for the sequel!

** Read our exclusive interview with Jessica Brody here **

fidelityfilesjessicabrodyJennifer Hunter has a somewhat unusual job, one that she keeps hidden even from her family and friends. Jennifer works under the code name of “Ashlyn”, a Fidelity Inspector, and a pretty good one at that.

Jennifer basically receives a call from a suspicious wife, and then tests her husband to see if he has an intention to cheat. But this lifestyle is taking its toll on Jen, and her friends are concerned that she’s still single.

When she meets Jamie Richards after one of her trips, she begins to wonder about retiring and settling down, but there is one last surprising assignment Ashlyn has to complete.

Book News: Love Under Cover by Jessica Brody

Posted By Leah on April 7th, 2009

jessicabrodyloveundercoverThanks to my snooping around on authors sites I’ve come across Jessica Brody’s website and found the beautiful cover for her new novel, and the sequel to The Fidelity Files, Love Under Cover. It comes out in America in November however Amazon.co.uk has it coming out in the UK in October, October 1st to be precise. Amazon.co.uk also has it titled differently as The Good Girls Guide to Bad Men so the cover on the right could just be the American cover. Until Amazon.co.uk put up a British cover then this is the one I’ll use. If another - different - cover crops up, I’ll post it as soon as I see it. I like this cover, simple and efficient. The synopsis from Jessica Brody’s website reads:

I enjoyed The Fidelity Files so will definitely look out for her new one once it’s released.

Book News: Cecelia Ahern & Louise Candlish plus snippets

Posted By Leah on April 7th, 2009

Remember a few weeks back I mentioned a new Cecelia Ahern novel that comes out on October 1st? Well Amazon have added the title: The Girl of Tomorrow. There is still no cover or synopsis but it’s always nice to have any kind of information. I like the sound of the title and can’t help but wonder what it will be about.

louisebeforewesaygoodbyeI went to the book swop today and picked up three books. The Secret Life of Evie Hamilton by Catherine Alliott, Love The One You’re With by Emily Giffin and He Loves Me Not… He Loves Me by Claudia Carroll. I have loads - loads- of books in my to-read pile so I’ll get round to those new ones when I get around to them.

Louise Candlish, author of Prickly Heat, I’ll Be There For You (previously Sisters Avenue), The Double Life of Anna Day, Since I Don’t Have You and The Second Husband has a new novel out on August 6th called Before We Say Goodbye. The synopsis reads: ‘Why did she direct me to the only man in the world who can make me feel like this?’ The day Maggie Lane dies, she sends her daughter Olivia a letter containing dangerous information: the address of Olivia’s first love, Richie Briscoe. Olivia has not seen Richie for over twenty years, not since his desertion of her as a teenager almost destroyed her for good. She cannot understand why her mother’s last act should be to stir up old drama like him. Convinced that the note represents an admission of guilt, Olivia sets off for the idyllic seaside village where Richie now lives with his young daughter Wren. Soon she has fallen for him all over again ? and found in little Wren the daughter she never had. But there is a problem. For Olivia already has a husband and two sons. And where does this second chance at happiness put them? I like the sound of it and really enjoyed Since I Don’t Have You and have The Second Husband in my to-read pile.

Robyn Sisman has a new novel out in July currently Untitled; Jessica Brody, author of The Fidelity Files, has the sequel coming out in October called The Good Girls Guide To Bad Men; Anita Notaro has a new novel out in October 2010 called No Ordinary Love; Bridie Clark has a new novel out in December called The Overnight Socialite.
