Posted By Leah on June 1st, 2009

Bernadette Strachan has barely released her latest novel - How To Lose A Husband & Gain A Life was out in April - but we already have the synopsis for her sixth novel: Why Do We Have To Live With Men? The synopsis reads:

Four women in their early thirties make a drunken pact: if they’re not settled and married by the age of forty they will all live together. No one expects this to actually come true, of course …On the morning of her fortieth birthday, one of the womem sits alone in her house, wondering where it all went wrong.

Her friends aren’t faring much better either, and one by one her house fills up with women who have sworn off men for life. Initially euphoric at the freedom and female bonding, the dream quickly loses its appeal as female hormones begin to take over.

The plumber is mobbed when he turns up at the house to fix a leak, and innocent neighbours find themselves outrageously flirted with. And, slowly but surely, the women do meet men who restore their faith in the opposite sex. It turns out women do need to men, after all - but on their own terms …

Why Do We Have To Live With Men is out on 13th May 2010. 2010 is shaping up nicely with a lot of authors having books out… yet we’re only half way through 2009!
