AW Cover Wars: The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

Posted By Danielle on September 18th, 2011

A little over a month ago Leah put together a “Do Judge a Book by It’s Cover” post for the upcoming release of The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith. It received a huge approval rating with close to 80% of the voters saying they’d pick up the book based on the cover alone. Now the US cover has been posted and I wondered if it would get the same reaction or if readers would prefer the UK cover?

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of “real life” pictures on most covers and so I’m partial to the UK cover. Besides, the UK cover is adorable! I’d pick it up in a heartbeat, whereas the US I’d hesitate and possibly pass by.

So, you tell me, which do you prefer? The US cover on the left or the UK cover on the right and why?

Hands down the US one. It’s more romantic and realistic.

Myself…..uk,its eye catching..even entering this post it catches my attention first..thats not to say i wouldn’t look at the other cover also….and if i wanted to read in public the US cover is possibly more acceptable and not so chick lit!! :-)

UK for me, although I do like the US one too and it looks more serious.

The US cover looks like it belongs to a suspense book. I prefer the UK cover. It’s quite dreamy and romantic.

Definitely prefer the UK one. The US one to me is quite ugly.

Kat

UK, although the US isn’t the worst cover I have seen.

Jennie

I love the US cover! I would pick it over the UK one. The UK one is a bit too general, like other covers in the genre.

For some reason the US cover reminds me of a Young Adult novel rather than chick lit. But I am not too fond of the UK cover either as I think it is too flimsy.

Kimberley

UK pops out but US looks more interesting.
