AW Cover Wars: The Other Life by Ellen Meister

Posted By Danielle on September 11th, 2011

The Other Life by Ellen Meister was a book I picked up back when it was originally published in February of this year. When I picked it up it was based purely on the gleaming reviews of other book bloggers, but once I had the book resting safely at home amidst the vastness of my bookshelves it got lost. Sad, I know. It’s just that the original cover doesn’t scream “Chick Lit” or even potentially magical realism plot it describes in the synopsis, so it sat. Well, it’s recently had a cover makeover and I’m now reconsidering my shelf abandonment of this fantastic sounding (and now looking) book.

You tell me. The hardback cover is on the left and the new paperback cover is on the right. Read the synopsis and then decide, which cover would you pick up first?

If you could return to the road not taken…would you?

Quinn Braverman has a perfect life, with a loving husband, an adorable son, and another baby on the way.

Quinn also has an ominous secret: she knows that another version of her life exists…one in which she made totally different life choices. But she’s never been tempted to switch lives-until a shocking turn of events pushes her to cross over, and she discovers the one person she thought she’d lost forever: Her mother.

But Quinn can’t have both lives. Soon, she must decide which she really wants-the one she has…or the other life…

Deffo pb. I disliked the hb and was hoping they would redesign it. Luckily they did so I’m getting the PB!

I actually liked the hardback, but the paperback is gorgeous and I’m planning to pre-order it because the book sounds awesome.

I actually dislike both, but like the sound of the book and since it will be cheaper I’d buy the paperback.

I like the paperback cover.

I LOVE the HB version. I think it is one of the most perfect covers for a book I have ever seen. The PB version is lovely, but the HB is best, imo. :)

I am drawn first to the left one although I like them both:)
