AW Cover Wars: Don’t Sing at the Table by Adriana Trigiani

Posted By Danielle on September 10th, 2011

It’s been close to a year since I was able to review Don’t Sing at the Table: Life Lessons from My Grandmothers by Adriana Trigiani. Obviously, it’s a memoir rather than strictly Chick Lit, but this isn’t the norm for Trigiani. Her books a typically fun and filled with fantastic female leading ladies. So this read was more of a book I picked up to see more about one of my favorite authors and it was a great choice! So when I heard they were giving it a new cover for the paperback release on October 4th I was intrigued because the original didn’t do much for me. Well, the new one is absolutely cute with what I’m assuming is her picture as a child on the front, but it still isn’t great for me.

You tell me, is the new cover an improvement or do you prefer the original or perhaps neither?

The new one is the one with the picture? Both covers are pretty meh for me, but I prefer the original/the one on the left. :3 pretty colors. It stands out more for me than the new one and it’s something that would catch my eye.

The picture is cute, but combined with the floral-y banner it just doesn’t do much for me.

THe new cover absolutely reminds me of teh Ruth Reichl memoirs, Comfort me with Apples AND Tender to the Bone. Both were beautiful books. Her best, however was Garlic and Saphires: the secret life of a critic in diguise.
NOT chick lit, but three of my favorite books ever.

But, to answer the quiestion, the new cover would make me run out and buy it!!!!!!

Definitely the new cover is better.

If I saw the book from a distance and didn’t read the words, it looks like a how-to money manual.

Both are pretty ugly really! I guess the new one is more personal but I dislike the white and border.
