Miranda Dickinson launches short story competition
Miranda Dickinson, hugely successful author of Fairytale of New York and Welcome To My World is launching a fantastic competition for anyone interested in writing! The Rose Prize is a new short story competition which is being run through Miranda’s blog and is open to everyone. All you need to do is write a short story - less than 2,500 words - of any genre you fancy and send it in!
The competition is being judged by Ruth Saberton (author of Katy Carter Needs A Hero and Ellie Andrews Has Second Thoughts), Jamie Guiney (A short story author), and Miranda herself. The first prize is a place on one of Ruth Saberton’s writing holidays, and the top three entries will be published on Miranda’s blog. The closing date for entries is Wednesday August 31st at midnight. Entries have to be emailed to [email protected], be in a Word document, 12 point text with double spacing with ‘New Rose Prize Entry’ as your subject line.
It’s a great opportunity for writers out there to get their work read by some great names in the business, and the prize is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the art of writing! Good luck!
