Book Cover: Spotlight by Ilana Fox
Posted on Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 by LeahIlana Fox, author of The Making of Mia, has a new book coming out on 29th April 2010 in Hardcover. The title will be Spotlight and it sounds fantastic. I haven’t read Ilana’s debut so will be on the lookout for both books. Here’s a synopsis:
A fallen star. A runaway bride. They’re about to be pitted against each other by a very powerful man. Madison Miller has everything - beautiful, talented and just a little bit naive; she’s the small-town girl who swept to victory on America’s hottest talent show to become the nation’s sweetheart. She’s also head-over-heels in love with the man who’s masterminded her career - the head-spinningly powerful, lethally attractive Beau Silverman.
But there’s trouble in paradise… Jess has bolted from her approaching wedding and a dead-end job in London to chase dreams of being a fashion designer in New York. But she’s finding life in the Big Apple tough, until she meets a man who makes her an offer she can’t refuse. It means a taste of a life she’s never had - glamorous parties, paparazzi, haute couture - but at what price?
Sweeping from the hotspots of LA to the coolest bars of New York, SPOTLIGHT cuts a gloriously fun swathe through the world of celebrity and glamour, with a page-turning story at its heart.

The cover for Jane Costello’s new book My Single Friend has finally been approved by the publishers so here it is! It’s fab and in keeping with the style of Jane’s first 2 book, Bridesmaids and The Nearly-Weds. My Single Friend is due out on April 1st 2010 so there’s a bit of wait but it’s one to look forward to. Here’s the synopis again:
Rathinch is a small Irish town with a lot of people who aren’t necessarily friends, but Detta is set to change all that with her ‘Single Parents’ group. She wants to get them all talking, and despite their initial reluctance, they soon find themselves making steadfast friends and suprising themselves along the way too.
Bonkbusters seem to be the in-thing at the moment, and Tara Hyland’s debut novel ‘Daughters of Fortune’ seems to be another of them! The lovely striking blue cover looks fantastic, and it sounds like something fans of the Bagshawe sisters and Lulu Taylor would enjoy. It’s due out on March 18th 2010 and here’s the synopsis:
Katie, Georgia and Alice thought they would be best friends forever. As well as being great friends they were also all at each others hen nights. Years later however, all of the girls’ marriages have fallen apart and the girls barely keep in contact.
With the cold autumnal evenings drawing in, there’s nothing nicer for me than cosying up with a good book in the warm on a dark evening! There are some ‘golden oldies’ that I like to go back to as old favourites for my Winter Warmers but there are some new books coming out soon that I think will also be great books to enjoy for the cold months. Here’s our top 10 choices for Winter Warmers…why don’t you tell us yours?
Kate Harrison’s The Secret Shopper Unwrapped is a fabulous Christmas read set in the world of retail and secret shopping. Join Emily, Grazia and Sandie on a festive adventure and a few personal twists and turns along the way too. This book has it all - fun, laughs, love and a few tears too, and I definitely recommend it as a great Winter Warmer!
