The lovely Fern Britton is the latest celebrity to turn her hand to writing fiction! Her autobiography “My Story” has been a huge success, and HarperCollins have signed Fern for a 2 book deal, with the first book due out in 2011. There’s no title yet but here’s the synopsis:

“It follows Christie Lynch, a journalist and single mother who lands a high-profile television job but soon realises not all of her friends, nor her new agent, are to be trusted. Her mother disapproves of her fame and her daughter disappears but salvation seems to come in the form of Richard, a handsome single dad at her child’s school.”

Fern says: “This story comes from my 30 years’ experience in television. Are the characters based on people I have worked with—have any of the storylines actually happened? Readers will have to read the novel to decide.”
