Author of the Week: Katie Fforde

Because we have quite a few Author Interviews, I take my time deciding which to use every week. This week’s Author of the Week and whose Author Interview will be posted tomorrow is Katie Fforde. Here is a small biography from fantasticfiction.co.uk:
Katie Fforde lives in Gloucestershire with her husband and some of her three children. Her hobbies are ironing and housework but, unfortunately, she has almost no time for them as she feels it is her duty to keep a close eye on the afternoon chat shows.
We love Katie here at chicklitreviews, me especially, and I have all of her novels bar Flora’s Lot and Living Dangerously. Out of her 15 novels, bar the two I don’t have, I only have Wild Designs and
Wedding Season that I haven’t already read. Her 15th, Love Letters, is out next month and you can read all about it here. I for one can’t wait for Love Letters and will try my best to get it as soon as it is released.
Katie’s books are always enjoyable and are always humourous and you always know you’ll get a good read and good laugh out of her novels. My personal favourites are: Paradise Fields, The Rose Revived, Artistic Licence, Highland Fling & Restoring Grace but I love her others, too.
I also love the covers of her novels. All of her book covers have been re-designed and are really beautiful. You can visit Katie at her website.
So… what do you think of Katie - what is your favourite of her novels?
And can we also say good luck and congratulations to Katie on her impending grandmother-hood!

One of my favourite authors has to be Melissa Hill. She always manages to write a story that keeps me guessing right up until the end, and the twists and turns throughout her book are fantastic. I have read several of her books now and loved them all. Here’s a little bit about Melissa:
This week’s Author of the Week is Alexandra Potter. She is the author of 7 novels and was born in Bradford, Yorkshire. She has lived in Los Angeles (which inspired her second novel) and Australia where she worked on Vogue and Cleo (and did rather too much sunbathing). She has also worked as a features writer and sub-editor for women’s glossies in the UK including Elle, More!, OK! and Vogue. She now writes full-time and lives in Notting Hill, London. (Thanks to fantasticfiction for the biography)

Jill Mansell is one of the UK’s best women’s fiction writers, and rightly so. She’s been writing books since 1991, when her first book Fast Friends was released. She’s since gone on to write another 19 books, all of which have been enormous successes. You can’t go into a bookshop without seeing a large chunk of a shelf taken up with Jill’s brilliant books!
Every so often, a new author comes along that receives superb reviews for their debut novel, and they just get better and better.
This weeks author of the week is Cecelia Ahern. She is the author of 6 novels: PS, I Love You, Where Rainbows End, If You Could See Me Now, A Place Called Here, Thanks For The Memories and The Gift. Her seventh novel, The Girl of Tomorrow is out in October. Here’s a short biography from Amazon.co.uk

This week’s author of the week is the hugely-talented & successful Carole Matthews. She has had 15 novels published and has her 16th novel, That Loving Feeling, out in September. Her novels include: For Better, For Worse, The Sweetest Taboo, The Chocolate Lovers Club & The Chocolate Lovers Diet and All You Need Is Love.
London, England.

This weeks Author of the Week is Belinda Jones. Belinda is the author of 7 novels: Divas Las Vegas, I Love Capri, The California Club, The Paradise Room, Cafe Tropicana, The Love Academy and Out of the Blue. She is also the author of the non-fiction novel On The Road To Mr Right.
