Cover Wars: A Season to Remember by Sheila O’Flanagan
I adored Sheila O’Flanagan’s 2010 Christmas short story collection A Season to Remember but I especially loved the festive looking cover in shades of pink, red and purple. As usual, the publishers have given it a new look with the release of the paperback this autumn (13th October) but I don’t think its an improvement on the original! I see what they have tried to do with the white and christmas ornament, but the mint green coupled with the pink and purple text just don’t scream Christmas to me, and if I didn’t know the title, I wouldn’t even say it’s a festive book! I for one would only buy the old cover, to me its far more suited to the title and theme of the book. Which do you prefer?

I prefer the old pink one, much more athmospheric, don’t like how the green door is dividing the cover. Looks like a nice, heartwarming story

Don’t like the change. Agree with your views about why the need. First cover was much nicer!

I like the pink cover, too. The new one could do without that mint green door.

I actually prefer the other cover, but do like the pink one too.

Hi Chloe
I really liked the first cover myself, but when I saw the 2nd and got a hard copy in my hand I fell in love with it. It feels quite Christmassy when you’re holding it. But of course the most important thing is that people like the stories, which I hope they will….!

I agree. I really like the first cover more. The second cover failed at looking holiday festive.

The first cover the pink is still the nicest one
