AW Book News: Sarah Jio Hints at Third Novel and Shares The Bungalow
Sarah Jio is one of my favorite new authors this year. Her debut novel, The Violets of March was incredibly beautiful and the perfect Chick Lit read (especially for the summer, hint hint). Fortunately it appears as though we will be getting quite a bit more of Sarah as time goes on! Her new novel, The Bungalow was announced on her blog back in February and on Tuesday she was able to share the first advanced reader copy images of her beautiful new book:
Isn’t the cover for The Bungalow gorgeous?! It truly makes me wish it was out now for my summer reading. Well, her publisher Plume is going to keep us in anticipation until March of 2012, but until then Sarah’s also hinting about a third novel on her blog. Why am I so excited about it? Well, besides being from Sarah, she’s mentioning blackberries! Love blackberries and love women’s fiction that incorporates food! I’m so excited to hear more about this upcoming novel and I’m eagerly anticipating The Bungalow’s release in March of next year!
The Bungalow tells the story of Anne Calloway, who at the very end of her life receives a letter postmarked from the Tahitian islands that prompts her to confront the haunting and bittersweet memories of her time serving as a nurse during the war in the South Pacific, a lost love, an unspeakable tragedy and the mysterious thatched-roof beach bungalow at the center of it all.
