AW Book News: Carole King to Publish Memoir
Carole King was a household name back in the early 70′s with hits like “A Natural Woman” and “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow“. Now, with her recent release of a collaborative album with James Taylor called Troubadours: The Rise of the Singer-Songwriter and Live at the Troubadour she’s decided it’s finally time to pen a memoir. Having grown up with a mother whom to this day is a huge Carole King fan and obviously made it a large part of my childhood I’m extremely interested in her history not only as a singer/song-writer but also as an individual who played a large part in the history of America. It’s definitely one I’ll be on the look-out for if for no other reason than to give a copy to my mom! Take a look at the press release from The New York Times and you tell me…will you be picking up a copy?
Carole King, the longtime singer-songwriter, has written her first memoir, her publisher, Grand Central Publishing, said on Monday. The memoir, “A Natural Woman,” is scheduled for release in April 2012.
Deb Futter, the editor in chief of the hardcover division for Grand Central Publishing, an imprint of the Hachette Book Group, said in a statement, “It will be a thrill to bring her life’s journey to her devoted following who have waited so long to read her story in prose.” The book will chart Ms. King’s upbringing in Brooklyn and her career as a songwriter and musician.

I am definitely going to read Carole King’s memoir. Like you, I grew up listening to her songs because she is my mum’s fave artist.

Fascinating. I’m not a huge fan but I think my mother in law is. Maybe I should see if she would dig it. Thanks for the tip.
