Why we like/dislike it: This cover is so simple yet completely perfect for the title. I’m a huge fan of food in fiction. If it’s done well, then I usually adore the book. Also, being that I’m absolutely in love with my Kitchen Aid mixer, partly because it reminds me of my mom, the cover here makes me think of her and all the fun we’ve had with our family & food. If I had to change anythihng? I’d make the title stand out just a bit more, maybe a lighter more pink-ish color, but that may be solved when it goes to print. No matter, I’m definitely reading this one and I’d absolutely pick it up off the shelf if I saw it!
Overall mark out of 10:
Would we buy this book based on its cover? YES!

Do Judge A Book By Its Cover is a new feature on Chick Lit Reviews, where we take a look at some of the best (and worst) Chick Lit covers in existence. No synopsis, no hint of the story, just plain old book cover judging, with marks out of 10!

Goodness no, it’s so boring and blah. At first I thought it was a perfume bottle or something. I’d never even notice this on a shelf, let alone pick it up …

Leah

I disagree, I’d totally buy it. I think the cover represents the book perfectly. It’s one of my favourite Chick Lit covers.

Chloe

Have to say I agree with Bookalicious here.. I thought it was a chef’s hat at first lol. However, I think with perhaps a bit more colour it would have caught my eye a bit more!

We’re split 50/50! hehe I love the cover, but I do agree with Chloe, I wish there was a bit more color like I mentioned above. Still though, gorgeous cover and I can definitely see it being a huge hit in the US. :)

Agnes

I wouldn’t, too plain for me.

michelle

i also thought it was a perfume bottle and was wondering what that had to do with a bake off

Esme

I would buy this in a heartbeat-I love the whisk with the meringue on the cover.

Like Michelle, at first glance I thought it was a perfume bottle and wondered what that had to do with a bake-off.
