AW Cover Wars: What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
Liane Moriarty’s book What Alice Forgot is due to be published here in the US on June 2nd through Amy Einhorn Books/Putman and as such it’s been given a brand new cover! I’m terribly excited to read it as Leah reviewed it last year, giving it a 5 star rating and everything else I’ve heard about Moriarty’s writing has been overwhelmingly positive.
As for the new cover though…I’m torn. I truly loved the cover from the UK edition that Leah reviewed! The beautiful purple dress and the lighting made it so whimsical. But you tell me, which cover do you prefer? I’ve even listed all the possible covers from the various countries where What Alice Forgot has been published. Which is your favorite?
The UK Cover (left) and the new US Cover (right):
When Alice Love wakes up on the floor of her gym, the last thing she expects is to be told she’s a 39-year-old mother of three in the middle of a divorce, particularly since Alice thinks she’s 29-years-old, happily married and pregnant with her first child.
It appears that Alice has had a large bump on the head and has lost the last ten years of her life. As Alice comes to terms with the fact she’s not who she thinks she is, she realises she doesn’t like the woman she has become. Can Alice recapture the spirit of her 29-year-old self and more importantly, can Alice recover her memories of the last 10 years of her life?

My favourite is the UK cover with the girl in the dress. It’s absolutely stunning. I like the idea of the new US cover, but it doesn’t work on paper, which is a shame!

LOVED this book! I bought the UK cover because I thought it was much prettier than the US cover. Great read! Would recommend to anyone!

I think for me it’s a tie between the German and the Australian covers. Great post! I love comparing covers.

I haven’t read this book (yet!) but I would have to say that the UK cover is much more appealing. I wouldn’t even notice the US version, it just doesn’t catch the eye. On another note, the Spanish version looks depressing, or like the opening scene to an episode of Law & Order. Why?

I love the Australian version, but have the UK version.

I prefer the Australian cover mainly because it suits the story more. The more whimsical style of the first and second really doesn’t quite fit. It’s a fabulous book.

The US cover is my favourite. I don’t remember hearing about this book - it sounds really good.
