American Saturday: Candace Bushnell signs new two-book deal

The box-office returns of Sex and the City 2 may have been underwhelming, but that’s not slowing down Candace Bushnell. Grand Central Publishing has just announced two new books from the initials-sharing creator of Carrie Bradshaw. The first, titled The Two Mrs. Stones, will be about that sturdiest shape in romantic geometry: The love triangle. Details on the second novel aren’t yet available.

Grand Central originally published the paperback version of Sex and the City way back in 1996. The company plans on releasing The Two Mrs. Stones in 2012. Any Bushnell fans out there? After her high-school prequel The Carrie Diaries, are you excited to see her with new material?

Yes, yes, yes! I understand why she wrote The Carrie Diaries, and I appreciate it for what it is, but I really enjoy her non-SATC books, too, and I look forward to reading these books.

I really love her early books, but i was never a fan of her Sex and the City books. So i cannot wait to see what these two books will bring!

I havent got a chance to read carrie diaries but looking forward to reading it. it will be exited to see what her two new books bring.

I look forward to new stuff from her. I didn’t enjoy the SATC book years ago when I read but loved the series and movies. However, I have really enjoyed her other works. I still plan to read Carrie Diaries, but I much prefer her other writing.
