Author of the Week: Matt Dunn
Author Matt Dunn first came to my attention when I read his hilarious novel “From Here to Paternity” on holiday in Mauritius a few years ago. Since then, I’ve also read “The Ex-Boyfriend’s Handbook” and its sequel “Ex-Girlfriends United” which were both absolutely brilliant! Matt writes books centred around male characters, and the stories are packed with humour and brilliant characters. Here’s a bit about the man himself taken from his website:
“I was born in Margate, but escaped to London and then Málaga (which is in Spain, for those of you who didn’t pay attention in geography class), where I worked as a newspaper columnist and played a lot of tennis. I now live back in London, but spend a lot of time in Spain, where I’m writing my fifth novel and still playing a lot of tennis (although not at the same time, obviously).
Previously I’ve worked as a professional lifeguard, fitness-equipment salesman, and lastly an I.T. headhunter, where my success in re-writing other peoples’ CVs made me think I might have a talent for fiction.”
Matt’s first 4 books have been best-sellers, and he has another book due out in October called “The Good Bride Guide”. Amazon doesn’t have a cover yet, but it sounds like a brilliant read. Check our blog post for this book here.

His books really make me laugh, the characters are so relatable and funny. I tend to finish his books off in a couple of sittings. He is totally under rated and should be up there with Nick Hornby and Mike Gayle.
