Posted on Monday, October 11th, 2010 by Chloe

Molly Greene loves being married to her husband Dan, and thinks that the pair of them have a pretty perfect life. They both have good jobs, a nice house, and are both still very much in love. However, when Molly finds one of her ex-boyfriends on Facebook, she can’t resist sending him a little message to say hi. She doesn’t realise though that it is going to set off a chain of events which just might ruin everything Molly has ever worked for, and might push her beloved Dan away for good. Molly knows she has made a huge mistake contacting him again, but she can’t take it back, so what is she going to do? Hide it from Dan and hope it never gets out, or tell him the truth and face up to the fact he might leave her forever? And what happens when Molly can’t shake him off? Book News: No Ordinary Girl by A.M Goldsher

Posted on Monday, October 11th, 2010 by Leah

A.M Goldsher’s fourth Little Black Dress novel No Ordinary Girl is due out on 25th November, and it sounds like quite a unique novel! I’ve never read a Chick Lit novel that features a super-heroine before and the concept really intrigues me and I can’t wait to see if A.M Goldsher can pull it off. Here’s the synopsis:

Abbey Bynum never asked for her strange superpowers; she was born with them and man, does she hate them. Only a few family members and her ex-fiancé, the uptight government bureaucrat Murphy Napier, know her secret. But when supervillain Jon Carson appears on the scene under the guise of a brilliant new defence lawyer at her work, Abbey knows she must embrace her ‘weird stuff’ to have any chance of thwarting his plans for world domination. There’s only one person who can assist her: Murphy. He’s had a complete makeover since their split two years ago, but can he help Abbey triumph in her epic superbattle of good versus evil, winning back her trust and her heart in the process?

Book Review: The Perfect Couple? by Robyn Sisman

Posted on Friday, October 8th, 2010 by Leah

Kate and Rikki have been married for two years and understand completely how the other works, knowing they don’t have to be together 24/7 and that with both of them being barristers, sometimes work comes first. When Rikki lands the case of his career, helping Cassandry Carnaby in her high-profile divorce, Kate can’t help but feel a bit jealous it isn’t her working the case, or a case like it.

Until her mentor Angus invites her in to join a high-profile case of her own: helping Jez Benson, and, more importantly, opposing her husband Rikki. Rikki is furious with Kate for taking the case and suddenly their happy, easy-going marriage has done a complete 180 and has hit the skids. As Kate and Rikki pull in opposite directions as they each help out their clients, it suddenly seems as if marriage was a bad idea.

Can Kate and Rikki put the court case aside to sort out their own lives or will they both fight so hard to win the battle that they completely forget they ever loved each other in the first place?

Posted on Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 by Leah

Two years ago, Andy went travelling with best friend Lexi, determined to have some fun together whilst they visited new places. What Andy didn’t expect was to come back from the trip, bruised, broken and scarred with Lexi missing after a catastrophic accident. Two years down the line, Andy is little more than a hermit, living her life without leaving her apartment, with the only time she ever goes out having to be in total darkness so nobody sees her scar.

She knows that it’s no way to live, so when her sister Kate’s flat burns down, she agrees Kate and her boyfriend Luke can move in with her and her cat, Baz. Andy soon realises that despite everything she has gone through, and is still feeling, it isn’t just her who was affected the day of the accident and realises that she’s been hiding for too long and needs to change her life and stop being scared of what other people think. It’s not easy for her, even more so since she still wonders exactly what happened to best friend Lexi, and is desperate for any kind of closure. Book News: Breaking The Silence by Diane Chamberlain

Posted on Monday, October 4th, 2010 by Leah

Diane Chamberlain’s latest novel to be released in the UK Breaking The Silence was originally due out in January 2011 but has been brought forward and will now be released on 17th December 2010. I absolutely love the sound of the book, and the cover is gorgeous too. Here’s the synopsis:

Laura Brandon’s promise to her dying father was simple: to visit an elderly woman she’d never heard him speak of before. A woman who remembers nothing - except the distant past. Visiting Sarah Tolley seemed a small enough sacrifice to make. But Laura’s promise results in another death - her husband’s. And after their five-year-old daughter, Emma, witnesses her father’s suicide, Emma refuses to talk about it…or to talk at all. Frantic and guilt-ridden, Laura contacts the only person who may be able to help, a man she’s met only once before - a man who doesn’t know he’s Emma’s real father. Guided only by a child’s silence and an old woman’s fading memories, the two unravel a tale of love and despair, bravery and unspeakable evil. This is a tale that links them all. It is a tale shrouded in silence…

One that will shock the family to their core when they find out exactly what Irene has done to get over her son’s death. Securing a role as a chorus girl in the Follies seems a step towards achieving her ambitions. But life isn’t all glamour and glitz and, off the Strip, Las Vegas can be a dark and sinister place.
