Why we like/dislike it: I’m still a little unsure on how I feel about this cover. On the one hand, I like it because it’s snowy and pretty and wintery looking, but on the other hand, it is a bit plain and bland compared to some of the beautiful Christmas covers we’ve had this year (Miracle on Regent Street, The Night Before Christmas, Something From Tiffany’s). The use of the bold red to pick out the title and the girl’s umbrella is a nice touch, but for me there’s a little too much grey/white courtesy of the snow, and the New York scene at the top isn’t prominent enough. It’s a nice enough cover, but it just doesn’t stand out enough for me.
Overall mark out of 10:

Would we buy this book based on its cover? Yes.

Do Judge A Book By Its Cover is a new feature on Chick Lit Reviews, where we take a look at some of the best (and worst) Chick Lit covers in existence. No synopsis, no hint of the story, just plain old book cover judging, with marks out of 10!

I got an advanced copy of this in april and i loved it…..absolutely loved it
The cover
The story…the characters…..LOVED!!!! definitely a book to buy this christmas xxx

Joan

Nice cover but surely title is a blatant rip off of Something From Tiffanys!??

Leah

I like it, too. It’s the most Christmassy of the bunch, especially since Miracle On Regent Street isn’t even Christmassy at all and Something From Tiffany’s is Christmassy by design rather than anything else, since the original cover was blue and Tiffany-like. It’s snowy and the grey and white shows that. You can’t have snow any other colour and the red stands out nicely with the title.

@Joan I’d say BOTH titles are a rip-off of Breakfast At Tiffany’s, rather than Christmas At Tiffany’s ripping off Something From Tiffany’s.

Bookalicious Ramblings

Yawn, I’m falling asleep just looking at this cover. So boring. Definitely wouldn’t/won’t buy it.

Rosie

I thought the very same, a big ripoff of Melissa Hill’s book which is set at Christmastime and the story is all about ‘something from tiffanys’ so hardly a ripoff off the movie. The storyline for this one doesn’t sound like it has anything to do with tiffanys at all and I don’t like it eitherway.

Mm,guys i like Melissa hill..this book is much much better, their is a link to tiffany’s and its linked very well without being in your face, its a far better cover than Melissa hills to be honest (her first blue cover i mean) seriously give it a go its a great book and no way would you say it was an idea taken from Melissa hill…anyone remember ‘breakfast at tiffany’s'!!!!!
Loved it! By far the best tiffany’s ‘themed’ book this year…..

Shaz

Having read an advanced copy of the book, I can see why the title is what it is….but it is a tenuous link.

Irrespective of the title, I like the cover and enjoyed reading the book so don’t let these put you off.

Rosie

Lauranne I didn’t say it was an idea taken from Melissa Hill, only the title. Another Tiffanys book a few months after one has come out seems a little bit cheeky especially as Shaz says if it has nothing much to do with the place at all.
