AW Book News: Ricki Lake to Publish Memoir
For many of us Ricki Lake was a part of our teenage years. She was a well know actress as well as daytime talk show host. Not only that, her constant struggle with her weight made her someone many teenage girls could relate to. Since that time, she’s had many ups and downs most of which revolve around her weight issues, but for the most part has yet to return to the lime-light of earlier years. Well, it looks like she’s finally ready to share a bit of her side of the story with those readers who may also be fans. In a press release via Access Hollywood Ricki Lake announced her plans to publish a new memoir due out in the Fall of 2012, take a look at the press release…
NEW YORK — After a career of telling all, Ricki Lake is ready to write her story down.
The actress and talk show host has signed with Atria Books for a memoir scheduled to come out in spring 2012. Her new talk show is expected to launch later in the fall of 2012.
Atria, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, says the book will be “a raw and emotional ride through the glum and the glamour.”
The book does not yet have a title.
The 42-year-old Lake has starred in such films as “Cry-Baby” with Johnny Depp and the original “Hairspray.” She also hosted her own talk show from 1993-2004.
She has spoken often about personal issues, including her weight problems and past sexual abuse.

You make a very good point Kat. I think it really must have something to do with that desire to be back in the limelight again along with a hope to shed light on who they really were back then. But who knows?
