When storing any kind of bed linen, you need to be conscious of a few factors that can really damage the fabrics. When you’re storing good quality doonas and woollen blankets, you need to be sure that they’ll stay fresh and in good condition.
The easy way to do that is:
Prepare the blanket or doona for storage- Brush down blankets, launder doonas.
Store in special bags like vacuum bags- Best practice is to store blankets and doonas in bags, not stacked and exposed to damage in the storage area. (Note: Also store doona covers in this way.)
Mothballs are optional- Strictly speaking, you don’t need them when blankets are bag-stored.
Result- Fresh, clean blankets and doonas!
