False advertising has no good points. The information is either incorrect or hiding facts. It may be misleading, or leave out important things.
These are the basic points to look for in false advertising:
Fine print- This information may modify or even contradict information in the main text.
Very small text- If you see something in 2 point font, it may contain information which is required by law to be published, but with false advertising it’s printed so small few people bother to read it.
Vague information- This information is often misleading.
Price information- If an ad says “discount” and there’s no reference to exactly what the discount is, for example.
Too good to be true- It is.
It’s interesting to note that a really creative agency won’t produce false advertising. Their materials are of a much higher standard. The less creative, “time serving” agencies, on the other hand, tend to produce low quality ads with information which varies from abysmal to false advertising.
