Creating your advertising from scratch

If you’re in a new business and looking at doing your first advertising, you really do need to know your way around how to manage your ad campaign and everything that goes with it. A lot can go wrong, if you don’t know what you’re doing.

This is the basic setup for creating your advertising from the ground up:

Budget- Critically important, this is literally the amount of money which it’s viable to spend on your advertising. You must have a hard dollar figure!

Marketing- You need to target your audience and define who your ads are selling to. It’s a good idea to employ marketing professionals for this phase.

Advertising materials- The next stage is putting together the materials for your advertising. These materials include:

Product/service information including product description, prices, hours of business, and business contacts. Also include any online point of sale.

Ad copy and media- This is the actual advertising product. You need to refine your ad to include presentation values, ad copy for sales, and your product information into a single deliverable package. You also need to highlight unique selling points, standout prices, and other advantages to your market in these materials.(Important- a creative agency is necessary to achieve best results.)

The follow up stage is to harness your ad materials to your points of sale through direct contacts, places of business and social media to ensure customer engagement.

From this will come a range of sales, marketing and other reports to give you a measurable return on your advertising.
